Consultancy & Expert Witness Testimony, United States Law Robert D. Carrow, who offers consultancy and expert witness testimony on United States law for professional colleagues , is one of very few persons qualified both as an English barrister and a United States attorney. He maintains law offices in San Francisco and San Rafael, California, and barristers' chambers in London, and divides his time between the United States and England. Mr. Carrow is listed in The Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, published by Martindale-Hubbell, which consists of approximately three percent of the practicing American bar.

Born in Marshall, Minnesota, Mr. Carrow attended the University of Colorado, the University of Minnesota, from which he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree, and the Stanford University Law School for his last year of study and was awarded a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from that institution in 1958.

In 1981 Mr. Carrow was called to the bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, one of the four Inns of Court. He had practised in California for over twenty years prior to his call to the English bar and in the course of those years developed considerable experience, both as a litigator and transactional lawyer in the the areas of business, construction and commercial law. His emphasis was, and remains, litigation and arbitration.

Acting in his capacity as a California attorney, and prior to his becoming a member of the English bar, Mr. Carrow also maintained a considerable practise involving criminal law and prosecution and defense of tort claims. His tort experience placed particular emphasis upon personal injury and wrongful death. Mr. Carrow has, for a number of years, limited his criminal law practice to defense of white collar crime and extradition.

Mr. Carrow's consultancy and expert witness testimony experience has included all of the foregoing areas of law, as well as well as alternative dispute resolution procedures, including mediation and arbitration. He has, for a number of years, served as a judge pro tempore of the California Superior Court, which is the equivalent of the English High Court, i.e., the highest trial court in California. In his capacity as a judge pro tempore, Mr. Carrow has presided over more than twenty trials.

Mr. Carrow has, in the past, acted as as a consultant to the litigation and criminal law sections of the State Bar of California and was a program speaker at the 1995 State Bar of California annual convention.

Mr. Carrow's qualifications to provide consultancy and expert witness testimony on American law is further evidenced by the fact that he has maintained Martindale-Hubbell's highest AV rating since 1979. Approximately eleven percent of the United States bar are honored with an AV rating. He is also listed in Martindale-Hubbell's Register of Preeminent Lawyers, soon to be published, which is made up of approximately three percent of the approximately 900,000 lawyers and law firms included in the main Martindale-Hubbell directory. Mr. Carrow offers his expertise on United States law throughout Europe.
