In 1981 Mr. Carrow was called to the bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, one of the four Inns of Court. He had practised in California for over twenty years prior to his call to the English bar and in the course of those years developed considerable experience, both as a litigator and transactional lawyer in the the areas of business, construction and commercial law. His emphasis was, and remains, litigation and arbitration.

Acting in his capacity as a California attorney, and prior to his becoming a member of the English bar, Mr. Carrow also maintained a considerable practise involving criminal law and prosecution and defense of tort claims. His tort experience placed particular emphasis upon personal injury and wrongful death. Mr. Carrow has, for a number of years, limited his criminal law practice to defense of white collar crime and extradition.

He has, for a number of years, served as a judge pro tempore of the California Superior Court, which is the equivalent of the English High Court, i.e., the highest trial court in California. In his capacity as a judge pro tempore, Mr. Carrow has presided over more than twenty-five trials and numerous settlement conferences.
